As Set Designer this week I have been developing my final designs through the use of a model box. This is a 1:25 scale model to show the director, actors and design team what the set will look like.
At this stage I am producing a white-card box, this is because the designs are still evolving. However, I have indicated possible colours to inform the lighting and costume designers of what route we may be taking, as it will effect their work.
The idea is to recreate an accurate model of the final design, which requires producing even the smallest detail of a door handle or sundial.
Over the next week as the concept becomes set in stone I will then create a painted model box that is as realistic as possible.
